Ningbo Fangli Technology Co., Ltd. is a mechanical equipment manufacturer with nearly 30 years’ experiences of plastic pipe extrusion equipment, new environmental protection and new materials equipment. Since its establishment Fangli has been developed based on user’s demands. Through continuous improvement, independent R&D on the core technology and digestion & absorption of advanced technology and other means, we have developed PVC pipe extrusion line, PP-R pipe extrusion line, PE water supply / gas pipe extrusion line, which was recommended by the Chinese Ministry of Construction to replace imported products. We have gained the title of “First-class Brand in Zhejiang Province”.

1. Classification of PE pipes

PE pipes can be divided into PE gas pipes, PE water supply pipes, porous pipes for posts and telecommunications, silicon core pipes, PE double wall corrugated pipes, PE double wall winding pipes and various industrial PE pipes according to their uses. According to the size, it can be divided into: small pipes with an outer diameter of less than 10 mm are mainly used in medical and other special industries; pipes with an outer diameter of 10 - 400 mm are mainly solid wall pipes; large diameter pipes with an outer diameter of 400 - 2000 mm are mainly double wall corrugated and wound pipes; super large diameter pipes with outer diameter greater than 2000 mm are mainly drainage pipes, but due to the high price performance ratio, it is difficult for the market to accept and the consumption is very small.

2. Advantages of PE pipes

PE pipes have excellent properties such as corrosion resistance, impact resistance, aging resistance, cold resistance, light weight, wear resistance, good water supply and drainage fluidity and no environmental pollution. The huge market demand promotes the large-scale production of PE pipes. Due to the unique flexibility, weldability, simple construction, low cost, safe and reliable use and other characteristics of PE pipes, PE pipes are most favored in many fields such as municipal construction and in the use and selection of pipes.

3. Raw materials of PE pipes

PE materials can be roughly divided into two categories: high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE); HDPE is polymerized under lower pressure, also known as low-pressure polyethylene. LDPE is polymerized under higher pressure, so it is also called high-pressure polyethylene. The raw materials used for PE pipes must be "special materials for polyethylene pipes", which are granular raw materials made in large petrochemical companies using ethylene cracked from petroleum as the matrix, after strictly controlled polymerization process, and adding appropriate additives. LDPE has low strength and can only be used for low-pressure, small-diameter pipes; HDPE materials are used for water supply and drainage pipes and gas pipes. In recent years, according to the ISO 4427-1996 standard, pipe special materials are divided into five grades: PE 32, PE 40, PE63, PE80, PE 100.

With the technical progress of PE material, its tensile stress, long-term strength and cracking resistance are greatly improved, which makes the wall thickness of PE pipe much thinner and gives great play to the popularization advantages of PE pipe in economy and technology.
