Screw diameter Screw diameter refers to the outer diameter of the screw, represented by D, in mm. Like a single-screw extruder, the screw diameter of a twin-screw extruder is an important technical parameter, and its size indicates the production capacity of the twin-screw extruder to a certain extent. The larger the screw diameter, the greater the production capacity.


Screw length-to-diameter ratio. The screw length-to-diameter ratio refers to the ratio of the length of the threaded part on the screw (that is, the effective length of the screw) to the diameter of the screw, expressed in L/D, where L is the effective length of the screw and D is the diameter of the screw. For the intermeshing co-rotating building block twin-screw extruder, since the screw length-to-diameter ratio can be changed, the length-to-diameter ratio on the product sample should be the largest possible length-to-diameter ratio. The screw length-to-diameter ratio is an important technical performance parameter. In a certain sense, it indicates the ability of the twin-screw extruder to complete specific production tasks and functions (together with screw revolutions and feeding amount), and also indicates the size of production capacity. However, it should be pointed out that the concept of aspect ratio is not as important as in single screw extruders. In addition to being suitable for specific tasks, the longer the aspect ratio, the greater the production capacity. (The production capacity of twin screw extruders, it depends more on the screw diameter, screw revolutions, screw configuration and feeding amount).


The screw speed range of the twin-screw extruder can generally be steplessly adjusted. The screw has a minimum and maximum number of rotations. The current maximum speed can reach more than 1000r/min. The higher the speed, the greater the shear force and the greater the output.
