In the previous period, PP-C pipes and fittings appeared on the market, and the installation method was consistent with PP-R. Many people are confused about the difference between PP-R and PP-C, causing many misunderstandings and confusion. In international standards, polypropylene hot and cold water pipes are classified into PP-H, PP-B and PP-R, and there is no PP-C. The difference between the three types of PP pipes is that the stiffness of the PP-H, PP-B and PP-R pipes is successively decreased, and the impact strength is sequentially increased.


Among the three kinds of PP pipes, the pipe impact resistance PP-R>PP-B>PP-H, pipe heat distortion temperature PP-H>PP-B>PP-R, pipe rigidity PP-H>PP-B>PP- R, pipe temperature blasting temperature PP-H>PP-B and PP-R, pipe chemical resistance PP-H>PP-B and PP-R. Compared with other PP pipes, PP-R pipe has the outstanding advantages of improving the low temperature brittleness of PP-H and good long-term water pressure resistance at higher temperatures (60 °C), especially for hot water pipes. When used, the long-term strength is better than PP-H and PP-B.


The PP-C pipe on the market is actually a PP-B pipe, and the raw material is a block copolymer polypropylene pipe special material. PP-B pipe is a kind of hot and cold water pipe, the price is relatively cheap, and its heat resistance and pressure resistance are very different from those of PP-R. For example: using conditional classification 2, design pressure 0.6MPa DN25mm pipe, PP-R pipe wall thickness 3.5mm, PP-B (PP-C) pipe wall thickness 5.1mm; design pressure 0.8MPa DN25mm, PP-R pipe wall thickness 4.2mm, but PP-B (PP-C) can not be used. Because the required wall thickness is too thick. The PP-C pipe with the same structural size and PP-R on the market has much lower operating conditions and cannot be mixed with the PP-R pipe. It is also impossible to replace the PP-R pipe with a PP-C pipe after determining the conditions of use. The use condition 2 indicates a design temperature of 70 ° C for hot water supply.
