Due to the limitations of materials and structures, simple wall plastic pipes are mainly used in small-diameter pipes, while large-diameter pipes mainly use various structural wall plastic pipes, such as double wall corrugated pipe, clara winding pipe and hollow wall winding pipe. Among all kinds of large-diameter plastic drainage pipes, the most widely used is high-density polyethylene (HDPE) large-diameter hollow wall winding pipe. Compared with similar pipes, HDPE large diameter hollow wall wound pipe has many outstanding advantages.

 

HDPE hollow wall winding pipe has unique structure and production process. Because its side wall is hollow, it is called hollow wall winding pipe (hereinafter referred to as "winding pipe"). In terms of materials, HDPE has many advantages such as temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, high strength, earthquake resistance, light weight, long service life, good insulation performance and easy molding. In addition, it has excellent creep resistance and stress cracking resistance. As a buried drainage and sewage pipeline, HDPE also has special functions such as resistance to ground settlement and stratum subsidence, so it is widely used in large and medium diameter drainage sewage pipes are mostly made of HDPE.

 

From the perspective of process, the winding process has less investment in equipment, reliable process technology, and it is easy to change the specification and performance of products. It can manufacture buried drainage pipes with large diameter. So far, only HDPE winding pipes with a diameter greater than 1800 mm. At the same time, the product qualification rate and equipment utilization rate of HDPE large-diameter winding pipe are easy to reach the ideal state. When the diameter is larger than 1000 mm, the cost of HDPE winding pipe is lower than that of any other pipes, and its equipment investment is far less than that of other large-diameter structural wall pipes. Moreover, as long as the transportation conditions allow, the pipe can be continuously wound to any length.

 

However, HDPE winding pipe also has disadvantages. First, the reliability of overall strength is poor, because the welding seam of large-diameter winding pipe is very long, which makes the welding quality difficult to detect; Second, under the same diameter and ring stiffness, the wound pipe generally consumes more raw materials than the directly extruded double wall bellows.
