Feasibility of Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe for High Pressure Long distance Hydrogen Transmission Pipeline

2022-09-28

Ningbo Fangli Technology Co., Ltd. is a mechanical equipment manufacturer with nearly 30 years’ experiences of plastic pipe extrusion equipment, new environmental protection and new materials equipment. Since its establishment Fangli has been developed based on user’s demands. Through continuous improvement, independent R&D on the core technology and digestion & absorption of advanced technology and other means, we have developed PVC pipe extrusion line, PP-R pipe extrusion line, PE water supply / gas pipe extrusion line, which was recommended by the Chinese Ministry of Construction to replace imported products. We have gained the title of “First-class Brand in Zhejiang Province”.

In the modern vigorous development of global oil and natural gas, a major technological breakthrough in high-pressure long-distance pipeline transportation is the continuous development and expansion of applications of reinforced thermoplastic pipes, which show unique advantages, especially in particularly harsh environments. It can be made into a continuous long tube with high resistance to internal and external pressure, flexibility and corrosion resistance, and can be bent. RTP (REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC PIPE) is used on land and TCP is used in the sea.

There is no recognized international standard for this kind of reinforced thermoplastic pipe to be used for hydrogen transmission. Recently, NOV is drafting the technical specification of reinforced thermoplastic pipes for hydrogen transmission with the participation of many famous leading large enterprises.
