In pipe extrusion production, the quality of extrusion die also plays a very important role in product quality. For processing polyethylene materials, an optimized pipe extrusion die should meet the following requirements:

a. The materials can be further fully mixed in the die and extruded into the die with uniform melt.

b. It can provide the most appropriate time for materials to stay in the head. Too short residence time affects the quality of molten materials; Too long will promote the degradation and crosslinking of molten materials and destroy the original physical properties of materials.

c. It can ensure that the material maintains a low melt pressure in the die and a stable balance of extrusion.

d. It can ensure that the material maintains a low material temperature in the die, so as to prevent the transverse flow and premature oxidation effect of the material during die extrusion. In the field of PE pipe processing, the widely used die structures are: spiral head, basket head and filter head.
